The Monologue is an analog synthesizer used in the making of the Belief eponymous debut album.  The sounds on this synthesizer were programmed by Boom Bip during the recording of the album.  The synth traveled to several studios including Rancho De La Luna, Stella Mozgawa’s Joshua Tree Studio, Boom Bip’s Pink Box Studio and Tim and Eric’s Absolutely Studios.   

The programs used live were for the five songs, Ulu, I Want To Be, Nebo, WOT and Dreams.  All remain as they were used and sequenced through an Ableton midi sequence.  The remaining chain was a Neon Egg effects unit and compressor.   

This synth is seen in many photos in the band’s archived media and social accounts from Belief’s first live shows at Echoplex, Pappy and Harriet’s, Corona Capital Festival and multiple venues on the Warpaint and Vanishing Twin tours.   
The green tape on the front of synth shows the root notes and scale used for the corresponding song titles.  For example, the keys on the left labeled “1” are the notes played for the song Ulu.  The reason for this is to not have to remember the root notes of a particular song when in a live setting when various instruments need to be switched over to the song at the same time.   

The back is marked with the band’s name Belief on green tape and a faint sharpie autograph by Boom Bip on the back, black plastic panel.
